Special Education
Understanding special education, the federal and state laws governing it and the needs of students with disabilities can help board of education members make informed decisions on policies, funding and resources that impact these students.
NJSBA can help boards learn more about this topic, so every district can create a supportive, inclusive and legally compliant educational environment that meets the diverse needs of all students.
NJSBA Task Force on Special Education
A task force made up of local board of education members, school administrators and special education experts studied the topic and made recommendations on public policy ideas for providing the best education possible for special education students, with the greatest possible efficiency.
