The Office of Special Education values its mission to help educators, families and other stakeholders advance the achievement of students with individualized educational plans.
It recently highlighted various tools and resources available to the public through the OSE website. Each resource is curated with equity, diversity, empowerment and improved student outcomes in mind.
The following resources and websites can be accessed online:
- New landing pages for accountability and quality improvement and special education data and resources.
- Special Education in Action Newsletter, Issue 10 (Winter 23/24), which highlights the Dare to Dream Conference and the student experience of Matthew Kane.
- Updated free and low cost legal and advocate services.
- Two additional e-learning opportunities that can be used for on-demand professional development:
- “Work Refusal in the Classroom: Reframing Your Thinking from Won’t Do to Can’t Do.”
- “Who Are the N.J. Students with the Most Significant Cognitive Disability?”
In addition to these resources, the OSE continuously highlights ongoing opportunities for action, learning and collaboration on its special education engagement website.
