Superintendent - Berkeley Heights Public Schools

The Berkeley Heights Board of Education is seeking an exceptional instructional, student-centered leader with the vision and experience to inspire, lead, guide, and direct every member of the administrative, instructional, and support services staff in setting and achieving the highest standard of excellence and providing every student with an appropriate and effective education.   In the role of superintendent, the ideal candidate will also provide leadership, support professional development and managerial oversight to the instructional program and school operations to ensure a school climate that fosters the educational development of each pupil.

Located in Union County, NJ, the Berkeley Heights Public School District is comprised of six schools that provide Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 educational services to approximately 2642 students in two Early Childhood Centers (K-2), two Elementary buildings (3-5), one Middle School (6-8) and one High School with a receiving population of high school students from Mountainside.  The district is supported by a staff of 461 and has an operating budget of $59.4 million.

Qualifications:

• NJ School Administrator or Certificate of Eligibility
• Experience as a Superintendent, Assistant. Superintendent, or Principal
• PK-12 Classroom experience
• Earned doctorate is preferred.
• Educational leadership with skills in curriculum, personnel management, school finance, with strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience with send/receive relationships a plus.

• Effective communications, parental engagement, and community
• Ability to work collaboratively and constructively with the B
• Addressing the special needs of the Gifted & Talented, Special Education, and Deaf & Hard of Hearing students.
• Curriculum review tied to elevating student performance.
• School district finances.

Salary: Commensurate with experience; subject to NJ regulations.
