Chief School Administrator - Fredon Township School District

The Fredon Township Board of Education is looking for a new Chief School Administrator who will be a champion for our students and continue the innovative, forward-thinking work of our District in welcoming learners, fostering growth, uncovering potential, and inspiring success.

Fredon Township School is located in scenic southwestern Sussex County and is proudly the top-performing elementary/middle school district in the County. Our beautiful one-school campus is well-maintained and boasts The Fox’s Den, a much-loved playground built by community volunteers. We serve children from PK through Grade 6, who continue their education in the Kittatinny Regional School District. We are particularly proud of our inclusive PK program and the integration of STEM throughout our curriculum. At FTS, we celebrate and promote student wellness and community connections. Our district offers a Gifted and Talented program and strong Special Education programming.

The Fredon Township School District operates with a budget of approximately $6m. Our student enrollment is approximately 185 pupils. We employ a staff of 25 certificated and 17 non-certificated professionals, and two administrators: a Business Administrator/Board Secretary and a Vice-Principal/Director of Special Services. We are supported by an involved Parent / Teacher Club and the active Fredon Educational Foundation.

The successful candidate in our CSA Search will be an exceptional and transparent communicator who will work with families, community and our elected officials in our tightly knit small town in order to continue our progress in elevating student achievement and educating the whole child. We require a superintendent/principal who is child-centered and actively engages with PK-sixth grade students; who will support our dedicated teachers and staff with top-notch professional development; and who will effectively lead and partner with school administrators to advance student success.

The Fredon Township BOE is looking for highly motivated candidates of the highest integrity, who aspire to apply their strong leadership skills at FTS to help us continue to grow and prosper. We are looking for an exuberant team-builder who will offer new learning and development opportunities for the Fredon Township
School District.

NJ School Administrator certificate or CE and teaching experience at the PK-grade 12 required; elementary teaching experience a plus. Doctoral degree preferred. Experience as a school Principal or Vice-Principal desired. Experience in prudent school budgeting is a must; successful experience with grants and grant writing is particularly desirable.
