The New Jersey Department of Education is partnering with the New Hampshire Department of Education to spread holiday cheer through the Holiday Cards for Our Military Challenge, it announced in an advisory.
The goal of the Holiday Cards for Our Military Challenge is the collection and delivery of personalized, signed expressions of respect, caring and gratitude to United States troops, veterans and service families. Personalized and signed cards reflect genuine support and caring, respect and appreciation of our military heroes during the winter holiday season.
The NJDOE encourages schools statewide to participate in this worthy endeavor to create holiday cards that will be sent to soldiers overseas. Please visit Holiday Cards for our Military Challenge for more information, or email holidaycardsnh@gmail.com.
Card Signing Guidelines
Address each card to “Dear Warrior,” and write a holiday greeting and/or personal note. Sign the cards mutually as a group or individually, using first names only, and include the hometown and state. Students may write as many cards as they want. Cards should be no larger than an 8×11-size paper folded in half.
