Paul James Rolleri, who served the Shore Regional Board of Education for 20 years, including as president, died Dec. 14 at age 75.
Born to the late Margaret and Edward Rolleri, he grew up in Newark, New Jersey, with his brother, Edward. He led a life of service, family, and community.
He dedicated his life to public service as a law enforcement officer with the East Orange Police Department for 35 years, rising to the rank of lieutenant, and served five years as chief investigator for the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office.
In addition to serving on his local board of education, he coached, volunteered and dedicated his time to the Oceanport Recreation Department, the Special Olympics and various other organizations.
An avid Yankee and Notre Dame fan, he could often be found watching his favorite teams or vintage films. He lived by Vince Lombardi’s words, “Leaders are made not born.”
