Kevin J. Oliver, 48, of Lakehurst died Aug. 25, 2021 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
He served on the Lakehurst Board of Education for 17 years, beginning at age 25. He served as a past president, past vice president and as a liaison to the Manchester Township High School Board of Education, in addition to sitting on various board committees.
He was born in Point Pleasant and was a lifelong resident of Lakehurst.
Kevin graduated from Manchester Township High School in 1991, where he played football and was a cheerleader. He graduated from Widener University in 1995, where he played volleyball and earned a bachelor’s of science in mechanical engineering. He worked in the security integration and property management fields most of his professional life, and actively supported these fields by continuing to serve on various committees and speaking at events, earning him multiple awards.
Kevin also served as the vice president and treasurer for the Lakehurst Police Foundation and was a member of the Park Rod and Gun Club.
He was predeceased by his mother Mary Ann Oliver (Hanley) in 2018. Surviving him are his wife, Tara (Tucker) of 21 years; three teenage children: son, Nicholas, and daughters, Elizabeth and Rachael; father, Kenneth Oliver and stepmother, Alexandra Oliver (Stahl) of Manchester; mother-in-law, Rosann Collamer (Solari) and step-father-in-law, Gary Collamer; two half-sisters, Tammy Thompson (Oliver) and Michele Oxley (Oliver); aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial gathering was held in early September at the Oliverie Funeral Home in Manchester. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made via a GoFundMe fundraising page created for his children’s education and expenses.
