High school students who watch the award-winning documentary, “Sister Rose’s Passion,” are invited to participate in an essay writing competition organized by the Sister Rose Thering Fund.
Information about and copies of the film are distributed to public, private and religious schools in cooperation with the New Jersey Commission for Holocaust Education. A committee of readers evaluates the essays submitted to determine winners, first and second place for each grade 9-12.
The winners, their teachers and families are invited to a reception on the Seton Hall University campus. They receive certificates, gifts and monetary awards.
Submissions for the 12th Annual Essay Competition must be made by Friday, Jan. 31, 2022. The application and guidelines can be found at the Annual High School Essay Competition webpage.
