The New Jersey Department of Education, in collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Children and Families, will hold a free webinar, April 5, from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m. focusing on how educators can implement trauma-informed supports in schools.
The webinar – sponsored by the DREAMS Project – will provide guidance on how schools can establish safe, welcoming and relationship-centered learning environments and practices for all students to provide structure, mitigate the effects of any trauma or adversity and support positive growth.
Through the “DREAMS Project” partnership between the NJDOE and the NJDCF, 50 school districts throughout the state are receiving trauma-informed and healing-centered training and support, including training in the Nurtured Heart Approach.
Educators are encouraged to register for this webinar on the NJDOE Calendar of Events webpage. There is no cost to register. Additional resources can be found on the NJDOE’s Trauma-Informed and Healing Centered Practices website. Questions can be directed to the Office of Student Support Services.
