For years, county school boards associations have held what they called “Eighth-Grade Dialogues” in which they had students from local middle schools discuss their experiences.
Due to the pandemic, the NJSBA was not able to hold the programs during 2021-2022, but the Association conducted video interviews with students.
In these video interviews, eighth graders from around New Jersey discuss their experiences.
“The students provide valuable insights into how they endured the pandemic,” said NJSBA Executive Director Dr. Lawrence S. Feinsod, who explained the significance of the project when the 2021 videos were released last summer. “Their comments reveal some of the challenges they are facing – as well as how resilient they are.”
NJSBA has created a video playlist featuring the various interviews, which were conducted between the end of February and March.
