The agenda and meeting materials for the New Jersey School Boards Association’s Annual Delegate Assembly are now available online for review by delegates and any other interested board members. An electronic copy of the Delegate Assembly Handbook can be found on the NJSBA’s website as well as on the Association’s virtual conference platform, Swoogo.
The NJSBA Delegate Assembly will convene in person on Saturday, May 14, at 9 a.m. at the Conference Center at Mercer County Community College. Breakfast and networking will start at 8 a.m. Delegates, as well as nonvoting board members and guests, can register to attend on the NJSBA website. All board members are welcome and encouraged to attend, but only those designated by their board of education to serve as a voting delegate should register as such.
In keeping with the Association’s technology vision, registered delegates will only receive a paper copy of the handbook if they requested it by April 20. Hard copies of the handbook were mailed to such registrants last week. Anyone planning to attend the event in person, and who did not request a hard copy of the handbook, is strongly encouraged to bring a laptop or smartphone to refer to the meeting agenda and materials.
Only delegates attending in person will have the option to vote and speak at the assembly. Therefore, those designated by their board of education to serve as the official voting delegate should register for the in-person meeting. In addition, members with speaking privileges (past NJSBA presidents, members of the NJSBA Board of Directors and county school boards association presidents) may also wish to register to attend the in-person event.
The Association will also livestream the event for individuals who do not wish to attend the in-person Delegate Assembly. All board members are welcome and encouraged to attend virtually via NJSBA’s conference platform, Swoogo. However, please be advised that members attending remotely will not have the ability to vote or speak at the Delegate Assembly.
