The 2021-2022 county school board association meetings have begun and NJSBA has introduced the hybrid format to allow members to choose the meeting experience that meets their comfort level, and is most convenient. Both the in-person and virtual formats provide members with opportunities to engage with presenters, fellow board members, and NJSBA staff.
There were three “test” hybrid county association leadership meetings held this summer, which allowed staff to work out the technical difficulties of holding hybrid meetings.
During the summer NJSBA also surveyed its membership to gauge how willing they would be to attend in-person meetings. The results showed that 58% were “unsure” whether they would attend in-person gatherings.
One of the results of the survey is to hold virtual county meetings during the winter months of January and February, even without COVID, to allow the counties to gather without worrying about rescheduling due to weather issues.
The county association meeting schedule can be found on the NJSBA website here (click on the appropriate county) or under the “Upcoming Meetings” tab here to see the full schedule at once.
Members may attend meetings — both virtual and in-person — of any county association in the state.
