“Education Matters,” a New Jersey School Boards Association podcast hosted by Ray Pinney, lead director of member training and engagement at the Association, will air a new episode on June 3 at 1:30 p.m., which will focus on student representatives and their service on local boards of education.

The podcast will feature Reese Sahadow, the student representative serving on the Verona Board of Education in Essex County. District administrators and board members agree that she has made a positive difference.

The episode will be broadcast live on the NJSBA’s Facebook and YouTube pages and archived for later viewing. Guests will be able to interact with Pinney and his guest during the podcast by typing questions into the chat feature or calling in to speak live on the air.

During the podcast, Pinney will ask Sahadow about her experience serving as a student representative on the board.

In January 2022, Gov. Phil Murphy signed legislation that requires school districts with a high school to have a student representative on the board of education.
