The New Jersey School Boards Association is pleased to welcome three all-star keynote speakers to Workshop 2024.

This year’s conference will take place from Monday, Oct. 21 to Thursday, Oct. 24 at the Atlantic City Convention Center. Workshop includes four full days of networking opportunities and professional development and is the largest training conference for school officials in the Garden State.

John Quiñones is an ABC news veteran and the creator and host of the popular television series, What Would You Do? A lifetime of “never taking no for an answer” took Quiñones from migrant farm work and poverty to more than 30 years at ABC News, the anchor desk at 20/20 and Primetime and seven national Emmy awards for his reporting over the years. Along the way, he broke through barriers, won the highest accolades and became a role model for many. As host and creator of What Would You Do?, the highly-rated, hidden camera ethical dilemma news magazine, Quiñones has literally become “the face of doing the right thing” to millions of fans.

Sonia Manzano is a best-selling author and actress, best known for performing the role of “Maria” on Sesame Street for 44 seasons. Her work affected the lives of millions of parents and children and garnered her two Emmy Award nominations in addition to the National Academy of Arts and Science’s Lifetime Achievement Daytime Emmy in 2016. As a writer for the show, she took home 15 Emmys and recently received the 2022 Beacon Award from PBS.

Dr. Adam Seldow is the senior director of education partnerships at Roblox, an online game platform and game creation system. He will present “The Power of 3D Immersive Learning on Roblox,” which will introduce the topics of game-based learning and game-based assessments and show how engaging in fun, 3D immersive and multi-person experiences reinforces the skills students learn in class. Seldow will do a deep dive into examples of what makes learning experiences on Roblox academically rigorous and how the platform prioritizes student data privacy, with a core focus on safety and civility for students and teachers.

Register Early and Save From now until June 30, 2024, registrants can secure the special early-bird group rate of $2,100 for 25 team members. The regular group registration rate of $2,200 goes into effect July 1. Districts may include the school board, business administrator, superintendent, facilities managers, curriculum professionals, IT staff, principals, human resource professionals, educators and other district staff in their group registration.

All housing reservations are handled by AC Central. The last day to make and pay for hotel reservations is Sept. 22, 2024.
