The application for seeking reimbursement for providing Additional or Compensatory Special Education and Related Services for students with disabilities who were 21 as of July 1, 2023, is available on the New Jersey Department of Education’s Homeroom webpage, according to an NJDOE advisory. Applications for reimbursement of 2023-2024 costs will be accepted through June 20, 2024.
Award notifications will be sent out after the application closes, and the payment will be made in July 2024.
If a school district submitted estimated costs in December or January, a representative must log in, submit the final costs for the 2023-2024 school year, and certify the final costs for each eligible student. A school district that provided services to an eligible student under this program but did not previously submit estimated costs may also log in, submit and certify the final costs for services provided in the 2023-2024 school year. ACSERS awards must be recorded in the special revenue fund account 20-4537, line number 827. Expenses must be recorded in the new program code 20-486-xxx-xxx, line number 88712.
