A new resource listing, “Explore Your Career Horizons,” has been developed for students, families and school counselors who are interested in a range of career and vocational areas.
The toolkit provides information and hyperlinks to resources on topics including opportunities in career and technical education schools, government service and unions as well as information on career services, vocational school scholarships, alternative diploma pathways and gap year plan advice.
The listing was developed by a group, Great Alternative Paths. GAP was founded by Steve Sanders, president of SeaBreeze, a Towaco-based beverage syrups company, in conjunction with the New Jersey Restaurant and Hospitality Association.
Supporters of the effort include the New Jersey School Boards Association, the New Jersey Council of County Vocational-Technical Schools, the New Jersey School Counselor Association and the New Jersey Business and Industry Association.
The toolkit is available online here.
