The New Jersey School Boards Association is seeking a sales specialist who will report to the associate director of exhibitions and cooperatives.

The starting salary for this position will be $55,000 per year.

The successful candidate will provide support in revenue development, strategic initiatives and the cooperative pricing system. This role will serve as a key supporter of continuous process improvement, identify and develop external sales opportunities and provide exceptional service for NJSBA members and partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Support

  • Support non-dues revenue, including NJSBA’s Partners in Education program, year-round sponsorship opportunities, the Cooperative Pricing System, and NJSBA’s annual conference, Workshop, and the Connection Department’s one-day programs.
  • Proactively managing new business leads for the Connection Department to support Workshop, the Partners in Education Program and other sponsorship opportunities.
  • Support the Connection Department, including managing invoices, maintaining spreadsheets and managing leads, contacts and reports.

Cooperative Pricing System

  • Responding to membership requests to join the NJSBA Cooperative Pricing System.
    • Provide members with sample agreements and resolutions required to join the CPS.
    • Submit all completed agreements to the NJSBA executive director for signature through the general counsel.
    • Forward all executed agreements to Gabel Associates to be filed with the state.
  • Maintain and update a log of membership participation in the CPS.
  • Respond to all membership requests for information on the CPS and its vendors under contract.
  • Respond to vendors’ request for copies of any open request for proposals.
  • Track all contracts under the NJSBA Procurement number and inform the CPS supervisor of all contracts that are set to expire or are up for an extension.
  • Obtain all supporting documentation for contracted vendors.
  • Work with the NJSBA webmaster to ensure all information and documentation is posted and correct on the NJSBA website, including all supporting documentation for each contract.
  • Safeguard and maintain files for all documents that pertain to the NJSBA TEC CPS.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience as an administrative assistant
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with supporting programs and new initiatives.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in coordinating and supporting projects.
  • Experience working with virtual platforms like Zoom, Teams, Swoogo, Google Meet, etc.
  • Sales or marketing experience.
  • Administrative experience.
  • Proficient at writing for business.
  • Preferred: Experience working in CRM or Association Management systems.
  • Preferred: Sales or marketing experience.
