At its board meeting Jan. 22, 2025, the Oaklyn Board of Education in Camden County honored school board member William “Bill” Stauts for his 50 years of service on the board.

Ray Pinney, chief membership engagement officer at the New Jersey School Boards Association, presented Status a plaque from NJSBA and a 50-year lapel pin honoring him for his dedicated service.

“We are fortunate to honor and thank Mr. Stauts for his many years of dedicated service and support to the students and families of Oaklyn,” said Dr. Fred McDowell, superintendent of Oaklyn School and Collingswood Public School District 

Stauts was also honored with proclamations from the Camden County Commissioners as well as the Oaklyn Mayor Greg Brandley and the borough’s governing body with proclamations. 

In addition, the Oaklyn Board of Education in its official action named the school library after him.
