Rosemarie Chambers-Jimenez, one of the winners in the New Jersey School Boards Association’s Unsung Superheroes in Education recognition program, was honored Dec. 10 at a Dover Board of Education meeting.

She was the winner in the cafeteria/food service category. Her nomination noted that she is known for being a welcoming presence for all students and staff and is smiling every day. She has a positive approach to problem solving and never hesitates to help anyone in need. She boosts morale among staff and students.

School district staff and members of the community nominated scores of staff members from throughout the state in a variety of categories for the Unsung Superheroes in Education Awards. A distinguished panel of judges painstakingly reviewed application packages to select the unsung superheroes.

At Workshop 2024, each award winner received a trophy recognizing them for their selfless dedication in supporting students. Chambers-Jimenez was unable to attend the event, but the Dover Board of Education made sure she knows how much she is appreciated at its meeting, holding a ceremony of its own.
