Reynolds-Jackson is currently serving in her fourth term in the Assembly, representing the 15th Legislative District. She is the co-chair of the Joint Committee on the Public Schools, vice-chair of the Assembly Appropriations Committee and co-vice-chair of the Select Committee on Ballot Design. She is also a member of the Assembly Budget Committee, the Assembly Children, Families and Food Security Committee, and the Joint Committee on Economic Justice and Equal Employment Opportunity.

Prior to being elected to the Assembly, Reynolds-Jackson served on the Trenton City Council from 2010-2018, including four years as vice president.

Dr. Timothy Purnell, executive director and CEO of the New Jersey School Boards Association, sent his best wishes to the assemblywoman upon hearing the news of her new position.

“Congratulations to Assemblywoman Verlina Reynolds-Jackson on her appointment as the successor to former Assemblywoman Lampitt as chair of the Assembly Education Committee,” he said. “With her experience serving on the Joint Committee on Public Schools and with her being a lifelong Trentonian, we look forward to working together to support the children of the Garden State.”
