NJSBA STEAM Tank Challenge
The NJSBA STEAM Tank Entrepreneurial Design Challenge is designed to inspire, engage, and motivate students to collaborate with their peers to learn the integrative process of STEAM education. The STEAM Tank Challenge provides connections for students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills which will serve them in future careers and in their everyday lives. Teams use creativity, innovation, and ingenuity, while invoking empathy to consider the human factors in the problem-solving process. Students are asked to solve a real-world problem, invent something new, or modify an existing product under the lens of sustainability. STEAM Tank motivates students to go beyond traditional classroom boundaries to enrich their educational experience through community engagement. The STEAM Tank Challenge is an opportunity for our students to reimagine and redesign New Jersey to ensure our state is sustainable, healthy, equitable and safe for everyone to live, work, and play. The STEAM Tank Challenge is more than a “competition”, but a year-round all- inclusive K-12 community of learners open to students with various ability levels and academic interests while promoting student achievement.
