Officers Re-elected at State Board of Education Meeting

NJSBA hosts first meeting with in-person attendees since March 2020.
“She devoted her life to education, and she was a vital asset on the school board,” said board president Maria Valado. “She will truly be missed.”
Unvaccinated students must wear masks in the fall.
The censured board member disagreed with a decision by the education commissioner and said her board would take corrective action, though the board had not voted to do so.
Nominees must have five consecutive years of experience as a board of education member and must hold the NJSBA Certified Board Member designation.

The three-day virtual event is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 26 through Thursday, Oct. 28
Practicing school board attorneys will share research and their own experiences in addressing the latest court decisions, administrative rulings, statutes, and code that affect school district governance.
Project proposals are due by July 30.
