Dr. Christine Burton, superintendent of Millburn Township Public Schools, was recently featured on “Education Matters,” the popular video series hosted by Ray Pinney, director of county activities and member engagement at the New Jersey School Boards Association.

On the program, she highlights how her district studied moving back the start time for the school day. She answers questions such as:

  • Why did the district move in this direction?
  • What challenges has the district faced in moving back the start time for the school day?
  • How did the pandemic affect the process?
  • Why should school districts consider adjusting their schedule?

She also highlights how the schedule change has affected sports, transportation, teacher training and traffic patterns.
