The New Jersey Department of Education is accepting applications for individuals to serve on the Dual Language Immersion and World Languages Model Programs Review Committee, according to an advisory. The review committee will reach consensus to designate a local educational agency or school as a model program site. Review committee members must be available:

  • In August 2024, to review applications and participate in virtual meetings to select LEAs or schools to move forward in the selection process.
  • From October 2024 to December 2024, to participate in site visits (in-person) during school hours at mutually agreed upon dates and times.
  • In January 2025, to make a final determination for model programs during virtual meetings.

Every effort will be made to find mutually agreed upon dates and times for all responsibilities. Members of the review committee must have experience with dual language immersion or world languages education and be available for the responsibilities listed above. Individuals associated with an LEA or school being considered for the designation of model programs are not eligible to participate on the review committee. Interpretive services will be provided if requested.

Model programs seek to highlight promising practices and celebrate the great work being done by LEAs and schools around dual language immersion and world languages education and to provide regional resource centers across the state where educators can witness exemplary instruction and programmatic practices in dual language immersion and world languages education.

Those interested in serving on the review committee should complete the Model Programs Review Committee Member Application. The deadline for applications is Aug. 5, 2024, at 11:45 p.m.
