• Dr. Timothy Purnell, executive director and CEO of the NJSBA, celebrates the success of the Spring Conference.

A good turnout of board members and school leaders was on hand for the New Jersey School Boards Association’s Spring Conference on May 10, at the Conference Center at Mercer in West Windsor.

The in-person prequel to Workshop 2024 featured over a dozen training sessions covering topics impacting boards of education today, including student achievement, school safety and effective public relations strategies.

Dr. Timothy Purnell, executive director and CEO of the New Jersey School Boards Association, welcomed attendees, wishing everyone in attendance a great Mother’s Day weekend. He told the crowd that the conference would not be possible without its sponsors, which included Capturing Kids’ Hearts, Effective School Solutions, Athletic Fields of America, Eyemetric, Partnership Health Centers, Horizon AVL, PBG Networks, Pugh and Public Consulting Group. He also acknowledged Educational Leadership Foundation of New Jersey supporter  Broadreach Medical Resources.

Then, he introduced the conference’s keynote speaker, Angelo DelliSanti, a seasoned educator and leadership solutions strategist at Capturing Kids’ Hearts. DelliSanti’s presentation focused on how to develop better leaders in your organization at all levels by building a relationship-driven culture, modeling proven leadership behaviors and creating self-managing teams.
